Dr. Fidele Masengo
Dr. Fidele Masengo is an outstanding lawyer with a very proven experience in arbitration.
He is a PhD holder in Law from University of Antwerp in Belgium in 2010, a Master Degree in Economic law from the University of Louvain in Belgium in 2003 and has a Bachelor in Law from the University of Rwanda obtained in 1998.
His background in both arbitration and law in general, includes, lecturing of arbitration law at various universities in Rwanda and East Africa, very rich experience in consultancy work in law, serving as ad hoc arbitrator, a very good experience as advocate and practice in arbitration case management.
He has served to the First Board of Director of Kigali International Arbitration Center since its establishment in January 2012 up to September 2017. Since August 2015 up to now he is the Chief executive of the Centre where he assumes the position of General Secretary.
Prior to joining Kigali International Arbitration Center, Dr. Fidele Masengo has served as Deputy Chief of Party for a USAID Land Project in 2012-2015. He has also served as Head of Legal Department at Rwanda Utilities Regulation Agency in 2005 up to 2006. Since 1999 up to 2005, he has also served as Director of Administration of Justice and Director of Public Prosecution services within the Rwandan Ministry of Justice.
He has written articles, books, led Master thesis in law including arbitration law. He has attended many arbitration Conferences as key speaker. He has many certificates in arbitration.
