Jaafar S. Abdulkadir is the Managing Director of Aqeel Consulting Limited, a firm that specializes in the development of the Islamic finance industry through specialized Shariah advisory, training and audit services. He has a solid banking experience spanning over two decades. He established the KCB Islamic banking unit and was also part of the team that set up the KCB South Sudan subsidiary over a decade ago. Jaafar is quite knowledgeable in business development, project management, governance, leadership, risk management, operations, sales and marketing among others.
He holds a BA degree in Development studies from Kimmage Development Centre-Ireland, Diploma in Micro-finance from Strathmore University, Diploma in Islamic banking and Insurance from the London Institute of Islamic banking and Finance as well as a Postgraduate certificate in Social entrepreneurship from the Colorado State University. He also has a certificate in Islamic Finance from INCEIF University Malaysia and Masters degree in Public Policy and Management from the Strathmore Business School. Jaafar is a trainer in banking, leadership and management and offers thought leadership in banking and finance in the Kenyan newspapers and other international publications.
